Engine

The new models in the BMW 1 Series model include 135i and 128i versions. The size and price of the model is almost similar to the BMW 3 series model. The 2009 BMW 1 series model is available in both the coupe and convertible versions. The standard engine to both the models is a 3.0 liter V6 model that produces 300 hp of power. The engine can be mated to either 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. With the powerful engine, the luxury car can achieve fuel economy of 18 miles per gallon in the city premises and 28 miles per gallon on the highway roads.

The BMW 1 Series model is equipped with most advanced safety features like the park assist system, blind spot detection, traction control, rear view camera, and four wheel disc brakes. The direct competitors to the luxury car include Porsche 911, Mercedes Benz SL class, Nissan GT-R and Audi A5.
